Don Quixote

“Don Quixote” is a ballet in 2 acts based on episodes taken from the famous novel “Don Quixote de la Mancha” by Miguel de Cervantes. It was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus and first presented by the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow. Petipa’s choreography reflects the local Spanish culture by incorporating the dance idiom into the movements and bringing Cervantes’ gypsies and bull fighters to life. This is a perfect family comedy ballet with rich costumes and sets and a host of colorful characters.
